EntryPoint Consulting Offers "Denied Party List" Screening at SAPPHIRE® '06
Orlando, FL - May 16, 2006 - EntryPoint Consulting, LLC, today announced it will offer attendees at SAPPHIRE® '06 Orlando the ability to see if they are on the federal government's "watch-list".
At EntryPoint's booth at SAPPHIRE, SAP's international customer conference, it will demonstrate the capabilities of the SAP® Global Trade Services (SAP GTS) application by letting attendees check to see if they are on the Federal Government's "Denied Party List". These lists, published by various branches of the U.S. government, including the State and Commerce Departments, indicate the names of individuals and corporations from countries around the world that are "under watch" or specifically sanctioned from doing business.
Although the demonstration is meant to be an entertaining way of helping to explain how GTS works for sanctioned-party screening, the functionality and processes involved for compliance management has never been more serious for companies operating globally.
According to Dave Moore, EntryPoint's Global Trade Management Practice Leader, "The government is adding names to the denied party list on a weekly or even daily basis. The government is also creating NEW lists (new categories) as well. For example: FINC (April 27), NSPLC (April 13) and COTED (Feb 8) have all been added to the list since the beginning of this year. Keeping up with all these changes using manual processes is extremely difficult. That is why so many companies are looking to SAP GTS as their solution to automate this activity. We wanted to use this opportunity at ASUG and SAPPHIRE to educate customers on the power of the industry's leading trade management solution and our experience with successfully deploying it in various industries."
